WTA Elite Trophy is up for grabs
Following the 2018 BNP Paribas WTA Finals in Singapore will be the second tier year-end tournament, the WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai. The tournament features 12 of the top players on the tour.
The players are split into four groups of three, with the group winners advancing to the single elimination semifinals. The player field features our 2017 Volvo Car Open champion, Daria Kasatkina and two Volvo Car Open finalists, Julia Goerges (2018) and Madison Keys (2015). Kasakina and Goerges will both be entering the event with some additional confidence as they both recently won titles.
Kasatkina won her second WTA title of her career at the Kremlin Cup, and her first title on home soil, which secured her top 10 debut in the WTA rankings. Georges will be defending her WTA Elite Trophy title with confidence as just captured her second title of the season in Luxembourg. The event will also feature two-time Grand Slam champion Garbiñe Muguruza (2016 Roland Garros and 2017 Wimbledon). Between all players competing, they represent 14 WTA singles titles won in 2018. Who do you have winning the total prize money of more than $2.3 million?
