Semifinal – [2] Ons Jabeur (TUN) def. [3] Daria Kasatkina 7-5 7-5

THE MODERATOR: Daria, obviously a hard-fought battle today. Can you just give us your thoughts on the match?

DARIA KASATKINA: Well, there were tough circumstances today. The game, raining, the match stopped, and everything just turned around, and it’s difficult to — I mean it’s for both of us, especially I think for us it was more difficult to get out of the changing room after three or four hours and being 5-3 down. But it’s part of tennis, which I hate. Yeah. I just wish all tennis was played indoors like most of the other sports.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please?
Question: Daria, what did you do in between — in the rain delay, just kind of stay mentally focused and then to stay loose?

KASATKINA: You basically cannot stay loose, because it doesn’t matter what you do, you’re still in the match. So you can have lunch, chat with your team and I mean do something, maybe play some games, but in the end you’re still there and taking a lot of energy.

Question: Was either side of the court more difficult to play on with the wind and the conditions?

KASATKINA: Well, any part of the court was difficult to play, but the court was in pretty good conditions, to be honest, after all day of hard raining. So I was pretty surprised that the court was pretty good. But it wasn’t the conditions on court while we were playing, but all the things, the stopping and first of all, we start later. Then we were just not sure if we’re going to play the match or not with the on and offs, and just, yeah, it’s not easy.
