$2.5 Million. Equally Earned.

This year, the Credit One Charleston Open is offering a record $2.5 million to its players with the support of Credit One Bank – a landmark moment for equal prize money in women’s tennis.

It’s a commitment not just to today’s players, but to the future of the sport.

Behind that commitment is a thoughtful approach designed to support every athlete in the field, both on and off the court. Here’s how the investment breaks down:

$2.3 Million → Prize Money

Awarded directly for on-court performance, this record-setting purse for a WTA 500 event reflects the level of competition, talent and global attention in women’s tennis today.

At $2.3 million, Charleston’s on-site prize money includes $1,093,554 above the required minimum, significantly exceeding the 2026 WTA 500 standard of $1,206,446.

More importantly, it’s distributed across the entire draw, so players earn at every stage, not only in the final rounds. From qualifying through the championship, prize money has increased across the board.

Qualifying players advancing through Round 1 will earn $4,405, up from $2,040 in 2025

The singles champion will earn $354,345, up from $164,000 in 2025

With increases for every qualifying, singles and doubles player in between, this structure supports:

Financial stability for all players
Greater opportunity for athletes to sustain and grow their careers

$200,000 → Player Benefits

This investment extends beyond competition, supporting players through the Women’s Tennis Benefits Association (WTBA), which provides:

Pension and long-term financial planning
Health insurance and healthcare access
Family and wellness support programs
Education resources for players

Education Beyond the Game
Supporting athletes isn’t just about match results, it’s about career longevity, personal wellbeing and future opportunity.

Through WTBA funding, players have access to subsidized college tuition and online degree programs with the University of Florida and Indiana University East, making it possible to pursue education alongside their professional tennis careers. 2016 Charleston champion Sloane Stephens and former Charleston standout Shelby Rogers are both graduates of the program.

We’re proud to champion a model that supports every player at every stage, on the court, and beyond it.

Your support in the stands, through ticket sales, watching on Tennis Channel and following along on social media has an impact. Help grow the game and be part of the action starting Saturday, Where The Court Meets The Coast.
